Emissions-Free Lawn Care
People enjoy their lawns. Whether it is for a backyard barbeque, a game of badminton,
or simply enjoying the outside air while lounging beside a favorite tree, most of us take pleasure in having green
space around our homes.
It is interesting that our lawn care practices often embody characteristics directly
opposite to what we seek and find enjoyable when we spend leisure time on our lawns. That is, the way we take care
of our lawns frequently creates noise, dust, and pollution. Fortunately, it does not have to be this way. It is entirely
possible to maintain our lawns without having to rely upon fossil fuel powered equipment.
Some of the benefits from attending the seminar include

Outline
The seminar begins with an hour-long PowerPoint presentation that will provide an environmental, historical, and
mechanical context for reel mowers and emissions-free lawn care practices. The presentation will cover:
- Climate Change
- Reel Mower Advantages & Disadvantages
- How Reel Mowers Work
- Reel Mower Maintenance
- Other Emissions-Free Lawn Care Practices
The
seminar will conclude with an opportunity for participants to gain some experience with reel mowers by taking several models out
for a test spin.
Delivery Fee
Ideally, the seminar would be sponsored by a municipality and a local hardware store that would
provide several reel mower models for demonstation. Additionally, a few local residents who already use reel mowers may
volunteer their mowers for the seminar. The delivery fee for the seminar is $225 (subject to travel expenses).
