33 Ways to Have a Green Christmas Season
For most of us, the Christmas season is like no other. It is a
time when we focus more on what brings joy and meaning into our lives, such as family, friends, and beliefs,
and less on other things that, although
important, may not influence the quality of our lives to the same
extent.
Specifically, the Christmas season is a time when we focus on relationships, on interacting
with others in ways we hope will reflect how we feel about them. It is a time when we want to help
make the dreams of children come true, to perform that special act of kindness that will brighten up someone's day, and to create
warm memories that will sustain us long after the season has passed.
33 Ways to Have a Green Christmas Season is a seminar for the public. It is Power Point based and between 1 1/2 and 2 hours
long depending on the level of discussion among participants.
Although this seminar is about
taking action to reduce our environmental impact during the Christmas season, its underlying theme is about deriving more
joy and meaning from the seasonal activities in which we become involved. It is a wonderful reality that by consciously
shifting our attention from that which is material to that which is intangible, we can enjoy the immediate benefit
of creating deeper relationships with those around us while helping to provide the future benefit of ensuring that our planet
will always be able to provide for us.
